Structural Steel Design Awards shortlist revealed

Terminal 2B at Heathrow - on the SSDA shortlist

Shortlist for the 47th Structural Steel Design Awards has been announced by the British Constructional Steelwork Association and Tata Steel.

All 14 shortlisted projects showcase steel’s flexibility and versatility in a number of different and varying applications according to the judges. Winners will be announced at an evening reception in London on 1 July.

The scheme, introduced in 1969, recognises the high standards of structural and architectural design attainable in the use of steel and its potential in terms of efficiency, cost effectiveness, aesthetics and innovation.

All projects must have been completed in the two years prior to the year of entry.

  • Merchant Square Footbridge, London

  • City Centre Bus Station, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Tottenham Hale Bus Station Canopies
  • Island Pavilion and Footbridge, Wormsley Estate, Stokenchurch
