High profile summit to focus on infrastructure in the capital

Infrastructure is in the spotlight more than ever, with increasing calls for vital investment programmes nationwide. Proposals for greater devolution to city-regions and the urgency of keeping Britain competitive in the wake of Brexit are also pressing issues. 

The London Infrastructure Summit on 14 September 2017 at the QEII Centre is a timely opportunity to explore early indications of the new government’s policies. Experts from City Hall, the London boroughs’ transport chiefs and the business community will convene to debate the big questions and seek solutions. 

Crossrail 2 is high on the agenda, with the benefits and urgent need for the investment clear. The summit will explore funding models, as well as the joint role business and the public sector must play in getting Crossrail 2 moving. 

Infrastructure not only keeps cities connected, it also unlocks housing and generates growth. The summit will cover the full spectrum of transport, housing and digital connectivity. Of course, with air pollution a concern for all and the London mayor driving his new environmental strategy, the summit will also be looking at how infrastructure can support sustainability.
