Milestone Infrastructure wins £250m Bedfordshire highways maintenance services deal.

Milestone Infrastructure has been awarded a seven-year £250m highways maintenance services contract by Central Bedfordshire Council.

The initial seven-year deal comes with the option of a three-year extension, as part of a contract starting from 1 April 2023.

The deal will involve maintaining and improving roads, pavements, rights of way, drainage, bridges and other structures.

The project team will also provide design, traffic management, winter services, street lighting services and emergency response services such as handling flooding and removing fallen trees.

Matthew Riches, operations director at Milestone Infrastructure, said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract with Central Bedfordshire Council. This is an opportunity to collaborate with the council to provide an efficient and responsive highways maintenance service.

“Milestone Infrastructure is pleased to be using innovation as well as environmentally-friendly methods and materials to help support the council’s Sustainability Plan. We are also committed to supporting local communities by offering employment opportunities to residents and working with local suppliers.

“Ultimately, our goal is to deliver safer, greener highways for Central Bedfordshire while making a positive difference to the local communities.”
