ACE North West to hold event on Carillion crash aftermath

Greater Manchester Chamber in conjunction with the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) North West group is holding an event on the issues affecting the construction industry in relation to the recent events around the collapse of Carillion.

The collapse of construction and outsourcing giant Carillion has made front-page headlines, led to inquiries and questions asked in Parliament and sparked much discussion and debate in the construction and business community. Procurement processes have come under the spotlight as has the way the public sector plans and delivers major construction projects and service contracts.

The breakfast event, on Wednesday 7 March 2018 starting at 8am will look at what the collapse of one of the UK’s leading construction businesses means for procurement and examine the implications for the public sector and how to ensure that firms like Carillion don’t go under again.

A knowledgeable panel of industry experts will address the key issues at the event which promises to be a must-attend for anyone involved in the construction and infrastructure sector in both public and private sectors.

Panel members will include a public sector client, a construction lawyer, a contractor, a representative from Infrastructure Intelligence and a representative from the Greater Manchester Chamber Property and Construction Group.

Based on the feedback and discussions at the event, a paper will be prepared for government and the National Infrastructure Commission.
