Turner & Townsend appoint former director-general of UK vaccine taskforce

Nick Elliott, former director-general of the UK vaccine taskforce, has joined Turner & Townsend’s senior UK management team.

Turner & Townsend has appointed Nick Elliott MBE, former director-general of the UK Vaccine Taskforce (VTF), as part of its senior management team in the UK. His role will be to further enhance the company’s programme management capability.

Under Elliott’s leadership the VTF, which sits within the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, formed an ambitious programme to build the UK’s vaccine capability and capacity. It is now being successfully delivered to the UK population.

Prior to leaving the VTF in December, Elliott served as the deputy CEO of Defence Equipment & Support in the Ministry of Defence, and the managing director of Network Rail’s national supply chain.

Patricia Moore, UK managing director, Turner & Townsend, said: “Nick has an incredible track record in world-class programme management and we are delighted to welcome him to Turner & Townsend. His experience, in delivering an exemplar in programme management through the Vaccine Taskforce, will enable us to draw great parallels and apply this to UK’s most significant programmes.

“Nick joins at a time when infrastructure investment is front and centre of the country’s plans to build back better. To deliver successfully, the industry needs to transform its approach to major programmes and we are proud to work on initiatives such as the Construction Playbook and the forthcoming IPA routemap that are driving this change.”

Nick Elliott said: “Turner & Townsend has a clear ambition to be the go-to consultancy for programme management globally. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to bear and helping to shape a more robust and capable industry that is ready for successful delivery.”
