Construction in the north in the spotlight

The Point - venue for the third annual Construction Summit North.

Over 400 industry leaders from property and construction will gather in Manchester on Thursday 14 July for the third Construction Summit North, making it the largest event of its kind outside London.

The summit, organised by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, will address the key issues facing the construction sector, including investment, connectivity, access to funding and strategic planning.

Given that the construction industry contributes substantially to the North West’s economy, this year’s summit is expected to be well attended. In the wake of the Brexit decision, interest in the discussions and debates is likely to be high as businesses look to gain an understanding of how forthcoming policy changes affect them, and importantly, how they themselves can influence policy and the politicians.

Speakers at the Construction Summit North include:

Martin Frobisher, Route Managing Director, Network Rail
John Twigg, Planning Director, Manchester Airport
Gillian Econopouly, Head of Policy and Research, CITB
James Richardson, Managing Director, Skanska
Gerry Hughes, Head of Development, GVA Grimley
John Alderson, Chairman, Informed Solutions
John Sydney, Head of Category Management, Sellafield Ltd
Jim Coleman, Head of Economics, Buro Happold
Prof Mohamed Arif, Research Centre Director, University of Salford
Mark Stodgell, Associate Director, PCSG
Tony Ellender, Emerging Talent Manager, Balfour Beatty UK

The summit will cover a wide range of topics, with panel discussions on a range of issues including sector resilience and support, connectivity, the Northern Powerhouse, strategic planning and land use and Brexit - building a future for Britain.

Places at the event cost £180 plus VAT (£120 for Manchester Chamber members).
