New guide to help SMEs get to grips with net zero

leading industry organisations, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) and the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC), have teamed up to launch of a new guide to help SME consultancies working in the built environment get to grips with net zero.

As well as helping small and medium sized consultancies play their part in the national effort towards a carbon free future, Net Zero: A guide for SMEs working in the built environment, will also outline why clients are taking the decisions they are, how firms can best meet these new expectations and how to seize the business opportunities created.

The online launch of the guide takes place on Tuesday 20 July during Net Zero Week, a new national awareness campaign which is bringing together nearly 30 business associations and major organisations to explore all things net zero.

Featuring a number of industry experts and guests, including Dr Sarah Prichard (chair of ACE and EIC’s net zero group and BuroHappold), Dave Farebrother (Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions), Alex Ferguson (Delta Simons), David MacLeod (RYBKA), Sunil Shah (Acclaro Advisory) and Matthew Farrow (ACE and EIC), the free launch event is open to all.

Commenting on the guide’s launch, Matthew Farrow, director of policy at ACE and EIC, said: “If we are to reach net zero then we need to bring every business on the journey, not just larger organisations. Our guide is specifically designed to help SMEs who are ACE or EIC members with practical and tangible advice. Not only will they be able to make the right choices, but they’ll be best prepared to deal with clients’ new shifting priorities and create new business opportunities along the way.”
