Stantec makes key risk management appointment

Siobhan Warr, pictured, has joined Stantec as head of risk management for energy, transport and community development.

Stantec has boosted its risk management department with the appointment of Siobhan Warr as head of risk management for energy, transport and community development.

The appointment by the global engineering, design and project management firm further strengthens its Programme Management Integrator Services (PMIS) service offering across the UK and Ireland.

The arrival of Warr follows the promotion of Simon Motley to head of risk management for water and buildings, to continue the support of existing clients.

Stantec says the appointments reflect the increasing demand from businesses for risk management services that support successful delivery of objectives, optimise governance, identify cost efficiencies and enable risk-based decision making.

Warr joins the Stantec team from Southern Water where she held the position of programme risk manager within the Programme Management Office.

Donna Festorazzi, director of risk management at Stantec, said: “The survival of any business requires an element of risk taking but our clients are facing additional challenges such as sustainable construction, greater focus on value for money, and consideration of wider environmental and social issues.

“I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Siobhan and promotion of Simon, who together will help support our clients in navigating these challenges. By assisting our clients to embed risk management practices that will maximise opportunities while minimising threats they’ll deliver successful financial and operational outcomes for clients.”

Warr has a shared history with Stantec having, as a client, worked collaboratively with Motley and the team which was recognised nationally and internationally at the prestigious CIR Risk Management Awards successfully winning Programme of the Year.

Further Southern Water and Stantec collaboration throughout the global pandemic led to recognition of Warr and Festorazzi, winning the Women in Water Initiative of the Year at the Water Industry Awards.
