Tilbury Douglas appoints new head of social value

Lucy Davies, the new head of social value at Tilbury Douglas.

Lucy Davies has been appointed as the new head of social value at Tilbury Douglas to spearhead the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme across its UK business.

Davies will consolidate and develop the company’s CSR activities, including apprenticeships, community volunteering, local employment and supply chain engagement. In common with an increasing number of construction firms that have made similar appointments, the new role illustrates Tilbury Douglas’s commitment to the communities they operate and work in and will allow for a greater focus and measurement of social impacts.

Commenting on the new appointment, Tilbury Douglas technical director Mark Buckle said: “Social value is an important area of focus for our business. We are committed to enhancing the positive impacts of our organisation in the communities we operate in, whether that be through our apprenticeship programme, our supply chain engagement, community volunteering or the range of vital projects we deliver - we are committed to giving back and leaving a positive legacy.”

Davies was previously corporate social responsibility manager at Tilbury Douglas and has also worked at Wates Residential, where she was community investment manager. Commenting on her new role, Davies said: “Social value is at the heart of what we do at Tilbury Douglas and I am looking forward to working with colleagues, customers and external stakeholders to increase the positive impact of our business.”
