TODAY: Webinar to discuss the future of UK energy policy

A forthcoming Infrastructure Intelligence webinar is set to discuss the future of UK energy policy and the nation's addiction to hydrocarbons and the search for ‘clean’ energy solutions.

The webinar, organised in association with Atkins, takes place on Tuesday 2 November 2021 at 11am and will bring together a knowledgable panel of speakers drawn from industry government and the environmental sectors.

Recent difficulties in the UK’s energy system have seen suppliers go out of business and increasing uncertainty over rising prices affecting home energy suppliers to heavy industry and from factories to farmers. There are also fears that a wave of energy suppliers might collapse and that households will be saddled with unaffordable bills. As the winter approaches, these are some of the factors shaping the current energy crisis.

While it is likely that supply problems will abate, the longer-term issues and challenges of moving to a net zero future for energy are not going away and in the run-up to the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow this webinar on the future of UK energy policy couldn’t be more timely.

As well as looking at what the future holds for the UK’s energy policy and the energy supply sector, the webinar will also examine the nation's addiction to hydrocarbons and the search for ‘clean’ energy solutions. Issues including the granting of future exploration licences oil and gas, the green investment challenge and the risks around achieving net zero energy targets by 2050 will all be addressed by a  knowledgeable panel of speakers at this webinar.
