What makes us special

We are in business for the benefit of everyone who works within the business, and wholly owned by people who work within it. We are driven by a desire to achieve excellence in all that we do. We believe that providing a great place for our people to learn, grow and develop will help us to attract the best and the brightest talent. This benefits our clients, by helping us provide outstanding engineering solutions and this, in turn, helps us build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, and provide even more opportunities for our people!

Corporate social responsibility

Much of our CSR work relates to the urgent need to build STEM talent in Britain. We do a huge amount of educational outreach work with students, from primary school to undergraduates, to encourage them to consider engineering careers, and to provide practical support to those who pursue STEM studies. We also support a variety of local, national and international charities, many of which are chosen by our staff as having particular meaning for them.

Green credentials

We were the world’s first office-based business to achieve recognition as a One Planet Company. This recognises our commitment to reducing the environmental and social impact of our business, and to providing people with the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to make a difference; at work, at home and in their communities. Our One Planet Action Plan sets challenging and measurable short- and long term targets against a clear framework of sustainability principles, against which we are externally audited.

Inclusion and diversity

We recognise the benefits to our business and to those of our clients that a diverse workforce provides. We have a range of employment policies to support inclusion and diversity. We actively seek to support (through our educational outreach work) those from under-represented groups who may wish to pursue STEM careers. We provide regular training and development for managers and staff on inclusion and diversity issues, and we target underrepresented groups in our recruitment activities.
