Salary 

To contribute to the profitability of the business through the application of excellent engineering practice. Resolves structural design issues, and provides innovative solutions to highway improvement schemes in a safe and efficient manner. 

  1. To provide scaffolding and temporary (platforms, mats, RC /steel frame, formwork and falsework) works design schemes for varied projects
  2. To ensure all designs adhere to the latest codes of practice, UK regulations and company policy.
  3. To apply engineering knowledge to analyse the structural integrity of scaffolding and temporary works structures.
  4. To assess and design-out hazards where possible within the design process and propose effective control measures for the reduction and elimination of risk.
  5. To conduct site surveys, collect and assess site information, liaise with clients and site teams, as well as represent the Company at design and site meetings.
  6. To contribute to new business development by providing strong technical support to the tender process by identifying innovative and cost effective strategies and design solutions.
  7. To undertake other duties and ad-hoc projects as required by the business.
  8. To act in accordance with the company’s health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and practices

Requirements 

Professional / Technical Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Structural Engineer working in scaffolding and temporary works

Educational Qualifications

Essential

  • A level or equivalent standard education.
  • BEng/MEng Civil or Structural Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Member of ICE or IStructE
  • CSCS

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills at all levels.
  • High business ethics - honesty, respect for the individual, culturally unbiased.
